Reflective Post: Macbeth

Macbeth is another masterpiece by William Shakespeare. The story is a tragedy due to guilt and greed. It begins with the appearance of three witches that tell Macbeth and his companion Banquo prophecies. After Macbeth wrote to his wife about the witches' prophecies, Lady Macbeth hatches a plan to kill King Duncan. And that was when things started to go downhill...
The story is really complicated but it's pretty cool! :D I like the way Lady Macbeth is portrayed as a very controlling and strong woman (which would have been a big shock at that time). I also enjoy the psychology and character development in the story and how the personalities of the characters are all very believable! This is definitely one of Shakespere's best works! :)

Reflective Post: Romeo and Juliet

We all know the story of Romeo and Juliet. It being the most famous love story out there and one of the best tragedies by William Shakespere.
But I started disliking Romeo after reading the first few pages where Romeo suddenly switched his love for Rosaline to Juliet. If I were Juliet, I would NOT have fallen for him.
I do not think Romeo ever truly loved Rosaline nor Juliet. I know some people believe in "love at first sight" but seriously? Romeo and Juliet decided to get married after they've met each other for only TWO DAYS. TWO. DAYS. That is certainly NOT long enough to decide whether or not you would like to spend the rest of your life with your "significant other". . Even the father that married Romeo and Juliet didn't quite agree with their decision. He was right when he said "great and sudden love can bring great sadness"...
